What Olympic Sport are you most excited to watch?

Since this board has pretty much died and everyone has discussed every single cheerleading topic until they are blue in the face, let's go a different direction.

Which Olympic sport/event are you looking forward to? And why?

I'll start;

I'm stoked about the mens 100m track. Tyson Gay is blazing fast! He technically set the world record at the trials, but it was discounted due to wind conditions...anyway I think he'll break it at the Olympics no problem!

Gymnastics, swimming, diving, track and field.   Interesting about swimming, records were broken during trials and we should expect to see some amazing times, due in part to the new swimsuits they are wearing which apparently are made of some material that decreases water resistance, or something like that.

Okay, I'm veering off course here, but....

Does anyone else think that the record breakers of this day and age should put on/use the equipment of yore and then subtract/add the difference in time/distance to the records of umpteen years past.

Example: swimming.  Once upon a time men wore these full body woolen swimsuits, which clearly are more resistant than even the speedo, nevermind the new material speedo.  I'd like to see what time the world record holder for swimming gets when wearing one of the woolen suits and then subtract the difference from the first world record and see where that lands the first record.

Okay, I don't really want the record changed, but I would really like to see what the difference is.

edit: I just found out that track & field is now called athletics.  When did this happen?

And watching the air quality in China.  In laws came home from trip there a couple of months ago with severe bronchitis and very ill.  They are older (70s), so it may have impacted them worse.  But it was six weeks before their lungs recovered from 4 days there.

We have Olympic t shirt and the funkiest hat ever brought home from a vacation.weirdface

but can anyone say shawn johnson?? if you don't know who she is youtube her name. bomb. and hot, enough said.

gymnastics should be sick. i've been youtubing mens n womens gymnastics for a couple weeks now. morgan hamm (one of the hamm twins) is doing some legit air flairs bringing some break dancing into gymnastics.

Diving.  My daughter cheered for 7 years and then took up swimming for another 2.  This her last year of HS  she was on the diving team for her HS.  She absolutely loved it and gave me a new appreciation of just how hard, dangerous and beautiful  this sport is.

I saw his flairs at trials...they definitely look different than break dancing 'cause  of the form, but still cool nonetheless.

This men's gymnastics team intrigues me, without Paul Hamm they're missing a big piece of their identity, but there are some guys on there that can really step up and contribute.  It'd be nice to see them get on the medal stand.

As for the Women's team, this is the deepest they've been since 1996 and honestly I think they're better than that team.  Every girl on this team has had success on the international level.  They are definitely the favorite going in, just depends on whether they can keep their cool and deliver.

I know what you mean, it would be nice to see what the difference would be.  Equipment and uniforms evolve over the years; it would be fun to see how our athletes would do using what was available to olympic athletes in the very early days.
