Gym Sleepovers

Curious how many gyms host them either as an all night choreography session or a team bonding night.

Any issues with parents helping or not helping?

Do all of the coaches stay, Male and Female?

Any issues there!

Pacific Coast Cheer has had many team/gym sleepovers!! They are always bonding events but you never know when a dance routine will break out and they often do.  Practicing their Choreography is one of the many things they participate in during the night but definately not the only thing.  We usually provide plenty of activities for the cheerleaders such as movies, music, video games, dance contest, volleyball, open tumbling and anything else they are interested in doing.  There have never been any issues with parents, everyone does what they can to help out.  Anyone wanting to stay the night can, coaches and team parents always do; no one wants to miss out on a good time.  We ask that anyone staying please eat dinner before they arrive, we also encourage anyone staying to bring their own snacks and drinks although we always have a surprise or two for them to enjoy.  Once you arrive you are locked in unless picked up by a parent, those old enough to leave on their own may do so after letting a coach or team parent know so that we are always aware of who is in and who has left. Siblings are always welcomed to stay but we do not allow any non-gym members to stay.  We always provide breakfast, usually orange/apple juice, muffins/bagels and fresh fruit.  We ask that parents please pick up their cheerleaders before 9 o'clock and always clean up the gym before anyone goes anywhere.  If you have never had a gym/team sleepover I would suggest you do so.  There is no better way to spend an evening, plenty of fun, laughs and memories.

Just want to point out that both Male and Female cheerleaders and coaches are allowed to stay at the gym sleepovers but Males sleep UPSTAIRS.  No girls allowed upstairs after a set time and NO most of the parents do not sleep!  They are always so much fun and a great bonding experience.

Motions just had a sleep over (team bonding) and they have male and female cheerleaders.  This event was run by the team parents so no coaches were there.  There were several parents and none of the kids slept (well I think they slept for about 1/2 an hour).

It was a great experience for the kids.
