A group of mean girl cheerleaders nicknamed the "Fab Five" ran their high school and lived to break the rules. Until a new coach named Emma Carr tried to turn them around. Tune in to the premiere of "Fab Five: The Texas Cheerleader Scandal," Saturday, August 16 at 9 pm to watch the drama unfold.
It actually airs August 2nd at 9pm on Lifetime. I'm excited to see it, but fear it will just contribute to the negative image the public has of cheerleaders. :(

just another negative movie about cheer we don't need it
Great. Just another show that will give cheerleaders a bad name. How about they make a show about how hard cheer is and how much dedication it requires?

The DID do that and everyone had something negative to say about that too!!!

Truer words were never spoken. Can't believe the uniforms they have on those cheerlealders. In Texas, no belly would every show in a public high school. Guess it makes for 'good' TV.
I hate the idea of another movie that marks a history of cheerleading stereotypes but my biggest regret is that they wouldn't have anything to make a movie about if the cheerleaders hadn't exhibited the kind of behavior that they did. Basically, the movie is available because they were given something to talk about.
Cheerleaders to many people are fascinating because for years they've represented celebrity at a high school level. Anything that you do when you wear a cheer uniform is under scrutiny. Ultimately, take care of your rep and you won't have to worry about unfair media treatment.

Actually teams in Texas have wore half top uniforms. I have been to NCA high school nationals several times and seen high school teams wear crop tops. Not as low as all stars but they do. Sad thing to say is this movie is so true. I have judged tryouts where kids with BELOW average scores make the team, administrators kids getting away with MURDER, and PARENTS willing to pay Athletic directors to have their kids make the team. I coach here in the bay area and see it all happen, especially to all those super competitive high school teams you guys talk about. It's really sad but its true. Many of the parents shove the high school cheer down their childs throat and will do anything for their kids to make it and stay on. Don't get me wrong, there are great kids on teams, but soooo much drama at the school level.
I am watcching this program in disbelief right now! And to know it is a true story , breaks my heart. I am slightly disappointed in myself for watching this because it just shoots the ratings up, but then It is educational at the same time. Noone wiuld ever believe this happens at the school level. I have experienced some with all stars because parents are paying etc.... but to imagine an entire school district would actually allow 5 cheerleaders and their parents to corrupt a school WOWWWW!!!
I have to say I liked it. This does happen not just in Texas. Parents with money think they can do anything, it is really sad to be honest. Parents think that they can run anything and let their children do what they wish as well. I feel bad for the parents because they obviously have a blind eye to any kind of reality. The children are learning nothing about life as well. THey might have mommy and daddy backing them up now but is that going to continue into adulthood. Pathetic!
One can only hope that those girls (and parents) eventually learned a lesson. It truly hurts my heart to see that some kids can be so hurtful to others. They will find themselves unsuccessful in life and forever unhappy as adults. This, I find, to be very sad.
It was awful that the "Fab 5" were treated like celebs for being bad but in the end the team prevail and all seemed happy at their competition! Im glad those poor girls stuck with their team and got their reward in the end! A better squad minus 5 bad attitudes! Yay Team!
