Hi everyone! My topic pretty much says it all. Im going to be 19 in a month and have never done cheerleading before but have always wanted to, so i have a few quesrions. -is 19 too old? -and is there a cheergyms team i would be able to be on?
-and how would I go about doing that?
-and how much does it approximatle cost and are there any kind of payment plans!
if your birthday is after may 31 then there is more than likely a team for you as you are eligible for one year on a senior team. so no 19 is not to old. if you want to be a part of cheergyms your best bet would be either emailing danny or calling the actual gym itself to get information Cost generally for allstar cheer can cost anywhere between $2000-$4500

We had a guy 19 come into our gym, because he was home schooled and didn't know we were in town until he saw us in the paper. He ended up joining our team and by the end of the summer, had a standing back tuck. By the end of the year he was amazing. Went and joined a pro team and lived happily ever after. (funny) Seriously, he did all that. So who knows, could work for you. Good luck with getting on a team.
anyways, it's never too late. the longer you wait, the older you'll be and you don't want to regret not trying something you've always wanted to do. i thought it was too late and i started when i was like 16. i loveeee it and now i don't know how i ever lived without it hehe i think you can pick up stunting pretty quickly if you work hard. tumbling can be a little harder for people as they get older but you should definitely try it out if you're really interested in it. but just keep in mind that there will be lots of ppl your age, possibly on the same team, who have been cheering for awhile and have alot of skills. good luck, work hard and have fun!
It's too late Find a man,get married and have a kid
Omg that was so rude even for this board...
LOL I hope kids aren't planning on marrying at 19..yeah that was normal a few years back, but now-a-days...in order to establish a career and make money to afford to live as a couple, you have to wait a little longer...
Good Lord, married at 19......I'm 27, I guess I should be a grandma now.....better work on getting married and having kids....Ooooo does that mean I can retire???
I say go for it, become a cheerleader, I think you age out for open teams at 31 or 32. Keep yourself active, fit and happy. Also sign up for college if you are not already in one, then get a part time job, these things will keep you so busy, you will have not time left.
Young ladies should not be thinking marriage or babies until they are thirty and up, live your life, have fun, take trips, then when you do settle down you will be ready. Especially not in the times we live in now.
I say go for it..however, being that you have never cheered before wouldnt it be hard to get on a team? Other than a community college (maybe)? I thought that the older kids (over 18) would only qualify for level 5 or higher??? Forgive me if I'm wrong, but we had some girls age out..(they didnt have any tumbling skills)...and they are now gone. They were on our level 3 team...and not any major tumbling skills..other than back hand spring.
