Best & Worst

Since every topic in here ends negatively anyway, lets just open up a topic that includes both.

Please post your
Best Cheer Moment of the 2007-2008 Season
Worst Cheer Moment of the 2007-2008 Season
Funniest Cheer Moment of the 2007-2008 Season (if you have one)

Just get it all out without bashing other gyms by name. But here is the catch...you need to do a positive and negative...Not just negative folks!

Best Cheer Moment: Hanging out with WorldsNut to watch Worlds
Worst Cheer Moment: dealing with the rediculously named video on demand (uh, no it wasn't) attempting to watch Worlds

I liked last years more. It didn't just focus on two teams and focussed more on the gym coaches and how the gym "runs" its business.

I was just talking about this skit. Sorry if I wasn't clear enough. Last year they did a similar skit like thing.

Yes you are correct and because we all loved it so much they decided to make it again. It was a huge success last year with us that they did one for this year. A lot of us parents are still talking about it. Just last night My friend and I were laughing again about the water bottle part of it. It was just really funny to us.

I hope they do something like this every year. I know that we at CheerForce really look forward to our end of the year videos.

Best Cheer Moments: Earning two unexpected, unplanned for World's Bids in our 6th year of operation: We could not be called bid chasers or even bid hungry. We only scheduled one World's bid competition on our schedule each year for the past three years. We have never been blinded by the have to be the best mentality. So headed into that competition there was more emphasis on all of our teams winning their divisions that it was on getting a World's bid, let alone two.

When they announced that our Junior level 5 earned an At Large Bid (their first year competing as a team) I was buried under an avalanche of crying kids and coaches who had zero inclination or thought that would happen. When our Senior Large Level 5 team (another 1st year team) won a bid we knew our World's train had arrived a couple of years early. Seeing how one of those teams Senior Large 5 never gave up on their routine and switched positions after a devastating injury literally learning the counts on the fly (front spot to a base with another group - a girl who had never based a level 5 stunt sequence before) easily made it the best and most memorable cheer moment this year.

Worst Cheer Moments: I will stay away from the incessant drama/lies between gyms that is always a downer and go in another direction. Having one of our Senior girls injured at the same competition who ended up tearing every ligament in her knee but one. She was/is one of the hearts of the program who has been with the program with day 1 and to see her go down in the middle of a routine was def the worse moment this year. Knowing what she had been through plus the constant pull on her to leave our program and go somewhere else and to see her remain committed to our small program made that very hard to take for everybody, and all the parents of the gym included. (She never missed a practice afterwards, still came dressed out as if she was practing and went to World's with us.)

Funniest Cheer Moment: I would have to say the funniest (there have been several) was the Wednesday before Worlds watching Senior Level 5 practice and they were tired and frustrated. I was teaching open gym and saw my Mini level 2's doing the Senior level 5 dance sequence including the ending. I stopped practice long enough to take the Mini's over there and let them perform the dance for the coaches and the kids and everybody was in tears!!! The thing is they had the dance down pat...just looked so funny for them to do it. I still wish we had You Tubed that...lol.

What was funny that lady is full of herself.  Like how they talk about the star tumbler constantly.  Are they trying to make her feel special so she won't go to the other gym?

They talked about Tylen the majority of the time then Tiffany and then Kiara. Tylen was the main focus it appeared not Kiara. Good try though......
