Hustle Plans for next years Cheer season

Okay everyone we all know how expensive cheer is, so NO MORE COMPLAINING!

Let's share idea's! Parents, and Cheerleaders what are some ideas you have came up with sponsors, etc to help you stay in the Cheerleading game.

I am going to sell candy/soda/ice cream after school and summer school,( I know that seems wrong but since the schools can not longer sell these things, somebody will, might as well be meweirdface.gif

I also am going to sell knock off purses. (yeah I said it) go on and laugh. Hopefully the (PO PO) don't get me.

Help! Give me more ideas

Last year I did a garage sale and everything I made ($400) went to cheer.  Another thing I did was wrote a letter to family and close friends asking if they would like to sponsor my daughter.  I got great response with that one.

You could offer to do a parents night out fundraisor. Charge parents a set fee and provide pizza and movies. This generally works well around the holidays because parents like to go shopping without the little ones. The gym could participate by supplying the gym and maybe donate the services of a coach for a few hours to supervise the kids on the tumbling equipment.

It also saves money when you
DON'T
1. Purchase yet another gym t shirt
2. Buy Mc Donalds on the way to a comp.
3. Buy Starbucks at comps.
4. Do not buy souvenirs

DO
1.  If you can bring a cooler to the competition then bring your lunch who cares if you have to hoof it to the car at lunch. It's exercise and you may lose a pound.

2.  Carpool to the comp. this way you can share the gas AND the parking fee.
3.  Share a hotel room.

Our team signed up to work concession stands at major concert/sporting event venues.  We were able to earn approx $85-$100 per person working per event.  I worked a few events with my daughter, so both of our shares would go toward her account.  Sometimes she bought her boyfriend along and his share would also go towards her account.

Eventually I quit doing it, because I could earn much more by just picking up an extra shift at work and dedicating it to my kid's account, but it was something that the kids enjoyed doing so she continued without me.

We are trying to get organized to do fundraising for our gym, but are gym owner is so reluctent to allow us to have a parents club (if you will) so we can classify the parents club as non-profit.  If we were able to do this we could bring in sponsorships and do more fundraising.  I know you have to file tax's and all and the it is a process to have non-profit status.  If there are any gyms out there with non-profit status could you please advise.  Maybe we are presenting it wrong.  Any info would helpsmile CHEERS!!
