This competition schedule is so much different than last year. Last year they had cheer teams running on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The dance side was just as busy.

I have to ask a question though. How many cheer competitions have teams performing on Fridays. I know these past several years Jamz has consistantly run teams through on Fridays, but are their others.

I just ask because I worry if I have to take my child out of school for just one day. My child is a great student and I really am relieved that I don't have to worry about the school issue, but there has to be some other parents out there that do worry about their kids schooling.

How do parents handle this? If you had a child and their grades were down, do you allow your child to go to a competition on a Friday?

I have that concern too. But since I know so much in advance that my daughter will be missing school, I make arrangements with her teachers to make up the tests/work ahead of time. Then I don't feel as bad for her to miss a day for the comp.

As well, I have to do the same for my son's classes since he will be missing school too!

Fridays schedule is All dance divisions.
Saturday is Tiny, Mini, International,All Senior and Open teams
Sunday is Youth,Junior and 2nd performance for world bids.

Its says no later than 1 week prior to the event.

It wasn't ran this way last season. I know this because my daughter was a mini last year and her team competed on a Friday. There were enough cheerleading teams in attendance to run 3 complete days. Now, it's down to just 2 days for cheer. Why the difference?

I know that they had a seperate nationals for high school... so that probably took out the extra day of cheer? does anyone know how long there awards ceremonies last? im tryin to book my flight out sunday night

They usually last a pretty long time.
I would say a good hour to hour and a half. Depending on how many teams .

They do the whole dancing to the cha cha and tossing the necklaces and shirts. Raffle prizes, door prizes, etc.
They do a whole song and dance presentation - i like it.
Then awards, with the throne and pictures for each division, so it gets to be pretty lengthy.

you think this is wierd.. how about performing on a monday! thats what college nationals were on ..well finals

yeh that is weird as well. But I can see the difference between adults (college aged) and minors. I understand that a college performer can take time off from a class and not worry quite as much as a kid trying to keep up their grades to get into college. I don't know.

I think competition has a great turn out and I am excited to see the Small 5 division. That one is up in the air, since most of those teams have competed against each other already and placements have flip flopped all year, it really is about who hits on that given day.
