POWERHOUSE ALL STARS IN FOLSOM
Permalink Closed

I go a flyer from a new gym opening up in Folsom, California.  Powerhouse all stars.  Does anyone know anything about this gym.  They were handing out flyers at the JAMZ Competition in davis.  Where did they come from? Has anyone signed up to be on this team? Where are they practicing at?

I would advise calling the number on that little flyer you got and asking them those questions

huh, I know there used to a Powerhouse, they merged with Clovis Elite and ???? (oh shoot! look what's happened less than half a year out and I'm already losing stuff!) to become Fusion. Maybe it's someone from the "original" Powerhouse (PH!)

Powerhouse always seemed to do fairly well. I recall thinking there dances were their strong point.

I got nothing else.

What is up with Fusion this year?  They were at a couple comps early and I have not seen them on any schedules of late.  They are usually at quite a few Nor Cal comps during the year.  Anybody know?

Ok, so I just answered my own question.  They are scheduled to be at UCA in Sac soon so I guess they are still around.

This is a new gym tyring to open in Folsom.  They took the name after the powerhouse pub.  The powerhouse name is locally recognized.  They are currently trying to finalize a deal to practice out of a facility in FOLSOM with 2400 sq ft of practice space (not enough space for even one full floor).  They have no affiliation with any all-star gym in the area.  The owners come from Folsom jr eagles (a small youth football organization) where there were many problems with that board and the cheerleading program, so the moms thought lets start an allstar cheer program.  To get a good look at what kind of teams they will produce look at the current folsom jr eagle team.  The coordinator from this year is one of the new owners of the gym.  Currently they dont have any staff, but are working on it.  Sounds like they are targeting youth football kids that dont want to do youth football games or kids that dont make youth football teams in the area, since flosom jr bulldogs and oakridge jr trojans are so strong and cut so many kids each year. They maybe can field a youth 2 team next year IF things get off the ground.

There is also cheer xperience and all star elite to compete with on the 50 side. Youth cheer in that area is very strong but both programs (folsom and Oak RIdge) as far as i know didn't have any cuts last year. Good luck to you.

Such a large population base in that area, makes you wonder why this is the first cheer gym to try and open! Maybe the youth programs are to strong to compete against. Good luck!!

the hard part is the 2 high school programs are excellent.  Folsom all-girl is fantastic and last year Oak Ridge comepted at the all-star level.  I have not seen them this year in the all-star catagory.  I saw them at jamz (awesome) but they were competing HS level.  both teams have some level 5 tumbling..
Oak ridge has quite a but more tumbling than folsom. oak ridge is co-ed so there baskets are amazing, folsom all girl stunts are top notch with full up heel stretches.  this is why the youth programs work there way up there.

I have seen quite a bit of chatter the last couple weeks about all star elite on these boards. I have not seen anyone talk about cheer xperience. I heard they do not have a spring floor and their ceilings are only about 15 feet high. does anyone know anything about them. where do they compete?

why the comment about the no spring floor or ceiling height what does that have to do with anything? very confused on this statement
i have seen them and they are doing just fine. if you know about them not having a spring foor and ceiling height i am sure that you know more about them than you are stating

we were thinking about doing all star but stayed with a youth program mostly because of the difference in costs. thats why we were wondering how they are doingt his year! we have not been to any comps, we keep up only by reading the message boards.
