Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could all get along. During the last few month's I have read some pretty mean comments being thrown back and forth between gym's. I have always wondered why us adults feel the need to come on here and defend our gyms against these attacks when in fact we keep adding fuel to the fire instead of just being mature and letting it go.
Maybe you are a:
Unhappy parent An ex cheer coach of said gym A parent that was asked to leave the program An owner who just wants to get their side heard
Either way when it all comes down to it the only people who we are hurting is our kids. These kid's just want to go to practice, Perform for their family and friends and at the end of the day hear a kind word and some praise for all their hard work and commitment to the sport they love.
Our kid's are learning more then just a routine here. They are learning valuble life lessons such as commitment, teamwork, and learning to achieve common goals. As well as gaining ,self esteem, self confidence, experience ,skill and pride in a job well done.
Have a great day everyone and an even greater competiton season.
Very Nicely said... I think we all need to be proud and happy about our gyms if we werent we would be crazy. Lets end this here and be happy our children are at a gym they love. Remember when we bash a gym we are bashing something that our children love.
I love my gym and all the coaches and parents who are working so hard for our gym. They do this because they care about us and for no other reason. I am proud to be part of my gym and NOBODY can take that away.
Thank you for this post. I am enlightened by it and agree it is time for it to stop. It is hard not to defend something you believe in, but you are so right it only leads to more drama.
I enjoy watching my kid perform and sitting all day in the stands until your butt feels flat and numb. I love getting her ready and telling her how beautiful she is. I love the smile she has on the floor and the excitement she has after performing. I love telling her when she walks off the floor how proud I am of her.
I am amazed at the new skills she has learned and the confidence she has gained. I am impreesed at the independance she is gaining by being responsible for herself at cheer competitions and learning to balance school and cheer and exceling at it.
I am proud that even though we as parents are worked up about things, she just gets in the car and says oh mom its ok... we did this and that and it worked out.
I am impressed at her loyalty to her teammates and her gym. It amazes me how she could walk into a program and not know anyone at all and make friends and learn to get along with so many different people from different walks of life and personalities. She has learned tolerance and patience and repsect through her sport.
All Star cheerleading has done all of this for my child. It does all of this and more for every child.
I am vowing now to only post positive things on the boards and to keep encouraging other to do the same.
Our kids are worth that! My daughter is worth that...
Thank you to every gym owner and coach and cheerleader for all your hard work and dedication. It is almost Nationals time and I wish evreryone the best of luck at Nationals.
Safe travels, healthy cheerleaders and more importantly fun fun fun
I hate it when some posters get on here and start bashing another team. Why be so negative?I try my best to ignore it, but I admit it upsets me.Our coach requested that we do not post on this message board anymore because of the negativity.Since I personally have not, or will not say negative things about other teams I continue to log on and post an occasional response. Our gym has been a victim to it as well, and its hurtful. This is why I choose to stay anonymous.I do not want anything I say being taken wrong and reflecting badly on our gym.All that being said I feel frustrated that people read these messages and I cant help but wonder how it affects how others view us.Do people believe what they read and assume it to be true. The urge to post an angry response can be pretty great when the integrity of your gym is in question. What bothers me even more is that some of this negativity is not by the cheerleaders, but their parents. We have been apart of All Stars for almost 5 ½ years. The majority of the kids, parents, and coaches Ive met at competitions have been extremely nice.So I just remember its only a few individuals posting anonymously, and dont judge everyone by their lack of character. The best advice given so far on how to deal with it came from Danny. If you do respond do it in a friendly, polite manner, or just ignore them.

Royals cheer mom,
Thank you for reaching out and posting your comment! It is all about the kids and what a great bunch of talented kids both programs in Elk Grove have....
It takes one person to make a change and now there are two on board. Me and you! Imagine that
I say we set the example and spread the news that us cheer moms can be respectful and set the example for our children. How amazing would it be for UCF and ROYALS to cheer each other on this weekend. What an amazing thing it would teach our children.
Wouldn't it be nice for them to be able to return to their schools and talk about that. What do you say? Let's spread the word at our gym. There is no time like the present for us moms to step up and do something positive for our gyms and our children.

We will be there wearing out silver, purple and UCF "BLUE" go royals! go ucf!. Go Spirit Spectacular!!! Two amazing programs with amazing kids.

Hasn't UCF been around longer than the Royals? I wasn't aware they shared the same facility. I believe their gyms were very close in distance.

I think they both rented space from a skating rink their first year. Then royals secured a permanent facility and UCF used their space for a while until they got their own space next to royals in the same building, then UCF moved about 1 or 2 years ago to Elk Grove. They were neighbors for several years. Interesting note huh...
OK.. so as a parent of an other gym who loves BOTH the Royals and UCF.. and never really understood the "beef". I love this! Kudos to all of you. Both of you have great teams and i can't wait to see all of you this weekend.
I'm a parent who won't be at the competition this Saturday but I wanted to mention I really enjoy watching routines from both of these gyms, at every competition we are at. We just saw UCF this weekend and they were entertaining as always. Looking forward to seeing both gyms again soon!
