The Pride of POWER ( our team name ) had our first practice. We had 6 girls there and several other parents watching to see if the team was right for them. The joy that the girls brought to the gym was contagious. I have not been this giddy about cheer in quite some time. It is the first time that the majority of these girls have ever been on any team and the joy that this team brought to POWER will resonate with me for such a long time. Also, to hear the pure joy in John's (gym owners) voice when he talked about practice made my eyes swell with tears.
I want to thank both of you for helping POWER with helpful ideas and Bill, the USASF website was such a valuable tool in helping the parents understand what special needs is all about.
We are shooting to have the girls attend one competition in March. We will be attending GSSA. I am sure that this will be the highlight of the entire POWER season. Thanks again for helping us pull this all together
Wow - this is really exciting! I agree with the last poster, just one more reason to love POWER and everything about them! I can't wait to see this team perform.
