I travel from vacaville to elk grove 54 miles each way
WOW! What a nice parent you are...what a great bonding time.
I wish I could take all the credit but my friend started at our gym coming from Fairfield until she moved (add about 12 more miles to that) and she's there so I am there. I trust her judgement and I am so glad we chose to come out there. My girls are happy and I have learned so much about them in the past few months. We have a great time driving to but Im usually left alone with my music on the way home. I will do anything that makes them happy
I go 144 miles roundtrip from Sac/Roseville to Concord. Luckily I rarely hit traffic. It is a lot of fun catching up in the car and Pyramids is definitly worth it!
Hmmmm, 20 minutes to the school, 20 minutes back to the OTHER school, 25 minutes to the gym, 15 minutes to the OTHER kids practice, then 15 minutes to the THIRD kids practice, 15 minutes back to the gym then 25 minutes home (unless you need gas or food).
So distance has NOTHING on me!!! I don't go too far but I sure do get around. (Boy that sounds really bad)
Hehehehehehehehehehheeehhheee

WOW! Now that is a commute. How do you not hit traffic?

Wow and I thought 20-30 minutes was far. And my mom still complains about that. Well I can't do homework in the car (I get a bit dizzy) and I refuse to stay up late to finish my homework (if it's not done and I'm tired, too bad. I refuse to pull all nighters) so the long drive probably wouldn't work out so well with me. That's some crazy dedication for those of you who drive so far. Gas is so expensive these days ... as if cheer wasn't expensive enough.
you guys would be suprised. and be very lucky good programs are so common throughout california. there are people that drive over 4 hours each way to be on the elite team of their state. people will go the distance to be that good
I do know that some people in other areas do drive very far. I have a question though. If it takes you 3-4 hours to get to practice. Do you miss school? Or do you just go to practice on the weekends, or do you home school. Do you drive or fly? With gas these days it might be easier to fly and get those frequent flier miles.

OC Mom- You sound like me! I laugh that after the kids get out of school at 3, I am an "air traffic controller" until 9:30pm going from one practice to the next, to the next and back and forth. People always tell me that I should put all my kids in ONE sport... not going to happen!
There is a gym 5-10 minutes from our home but we chose to drive 45 minutes for a gym that we thought was a better fit for us. The drive is all freeway, very easy route, and the time in the car talking with your daughter is priceless!
yea, but I do it barefoot and in the So Cal snow....

I have like an hour and ten minute drive for Sunday All American practices. Fortunatley it is only every other weekend so it's not too bad. But, the anticipation of getting to see all of my friends from Pyramids and Motions and practicing with amazing coaches and a hard working team makes the drive to practice seem like its the LONNNGESSSSTTTTT drive ever!!!!! hahaha. Im such a cheer nut. ;)

206 miles is both freightening and impressive. LOL I commend you for supporting your kids to that degree. Don't get me wrong - I will be doing the same shortly for not much less of a distance. Only I don't have a carpool set up...yet, that is! LOL Did you and friend decide to carpool to this gym? Or did you set up a carpool after you joined the gym and befriended others?
Also, do all of you who commute long distances do so for any level or Level 5 only?
Jill, I am happy that you see the value in making the long drive to be on such an awesome team that gives you such joy. Now you can see why everyone else has been doing it too! Good luck to you this season on your All American team and have fun with it!!!.
