First off i wouldnt recommend going to a USA comp. to any gym!
- the warm up was so unorganized, the staff didnt know what was going on. some teams had crossovers and couldnt warm up stunts for another team. you werent allowed to stunt on the tumble mat because it wasnt a full floor, yet there were teams stunting on the cement. sounds system was horrible.. POWER WENt OUT FOR ABOUT 30 MINS. so the teams that were on deck had to wait and get their muscles cold!. the way the do awards is confusing and they give out plaques not trophies...
MOVING ON TO THE TEAMS
Fusion 5- was really great! they had some good tumblers. really cool cool jump sequence doing a front and then front tuck to ground with one leg bent and other s traight.
rockets 5- was pretty decent. in my OPINION i think they would do better competing level 4 because they didnt have as many fulls as fusion.
cheer xplosion3- hit the routine and looked really good.
cheer xplosion 4- they only did exhibition. has a really cute dance and cool pyramid.
other then that nothing else really caught my eye.
I hate to agree, but it was not a well-run competition. The power going off set the competition back over an hour for the all-star portion. We didn't get out of there until after noon, and it should've been 10:30.
The staff and workers were nice enough, but...I just didn't really like it.
yah powerhouse... they have alot of teams... looking good. one thing i did not like about them was when girls were tumbling their skirts would go up and ud either see their underwear or butt cheeks.. they should get boy cut or wear shorts over the spankies they are wearn saw 1 girl do that
I liked Fusion's teams, they all looked sharp! They dominated the divisions, winning first in all they were in. I agree about Club Spirit Rockets, maybe they're building up to more fulls. Don't know what happened to Cheer With A Twist, just a really bad day I think, lots of falls and didn't qualify for nationals. But hey, we all have them. I hope they come back stronger at their next competition. I liked the teams from Cheer Xplosion. I loved Ace's uniforms, the red sparkly sleeves really stood out.
Wasn't a big fan of this USA competition, you had to go back and forth between each side of the gym if you wanted to see your teams. Plaques but no trophies. Maybe to keep the cost down, but still.. A couple positives.. they allowed videotaping and it was only $6 to get in. Kinda hope we don't go next year though.
In USA's defense....before we start piling on how bad this comp was....for a large team of 36 members to attend this competition is cost a total of $175. For a large team of 36 members to attend the Jamfest comp in SF last week it cost $2196.
If you're a glass half full type person you would thank USA for being a company that does their best to make our sport affordable.
Just a thought.

I always know that no matter what there is always a USA comp right around the corner and its cheap, you get critiqued and you get to practice in a competitive enviorment before you go to nationals.
It's pretty chill I think...a nice change sometimes.
Tamara, I agree with you about the competition -- ugh! What were your impressions of the competing teams?
I thought a majority looked like it was the beginning of the season. ;) Lots of potential mixed in with lots of small errors.
I was most impressed with Fusion's Focus team, the lights went out, the music stopped, the crowd gasped "wha oh" but those cheerleaders didn't miss a beat! I like Ace's uniforms, they really stand out. I approve of Cheer Xplosion's new uniforms (like they care ;) ). I wasn't a big fan of the old striped sleeves, I found them distracting.
To others that were there: did Majestic Sr L3 throw any tucks? Don't start bashing me, they performed well and won their division. I'm not real good at remembering all the details that go into stunting levels, so I basically look at tumbling, and I just don't remember seeing tucks.
Fusion sounds like they are going to be really good this year. Looking forward to seeing them compete this year. Where are the Magjestics located? I know I've heard the name not sure where they are located.
Tamara, I noticed the same thing about Majestics, and it was the same thing last year. Level 3, but no tucks. Maybe they figure they can make it up with stunting, etc... but I don't see it. They would have done so much better in level 2, and the only reason they won Sr. Level 3 was because Cheer With A Twist had a very bad day (they are usually much better).
Oh yeah, meant to say I was also very impressed with the Fusion team who continued after the power went out. We should mention that the power never came back on throughout the rest of the morning (don't know about the afternoon). They made do with either batteries or a generator for music, but no lights. Glad it wasn't at night!
Fremont, at Washington High School. Right in my backyard. If I knew Tamara was going to be there I would have dropped in.
You are more addicted than I thought Tamara.
I don't know if it's because I'm super addicted, althought maybe I'm in denial. ;) I live in Fremont, so it was only about 7 minutes away AND it was only supposed to be 1 1/2 hours long, turns out it was double that! Oh! and $6 to get in...can't forget that.
To Anonymous #4750204582920399753, unfortunately, CWT did have a really rough day, this I know, but I'm not about to say I know if they hadn't then they would have won. I'm also aware that CWT is capable of much much more, anyone watching them the prior weekend knows that. Can't wait to hear that at their next competition, they completely brushed this performance off.
