Complaining Central

People on this board complain about the stupidest things. Seriously they do. I think that is one of the things that people are turned OFF by cheerleading. The crazy cheer parents. Yes there are MANY great ones, but people on here are complaining about make up, briefs, half tops and hair. Seriously there are many other things in cheer that are much important than these topics. How about we send the kids out in mis matched out fits, no hair bow, random shoes, and no music. That way people can look at as tacky as they want, with no expectations. Sad to say, im sure someone on this board will complain about their daughter having to stay up all night finding an outfit and how its such a hardship LOL

I believe that most people are bringing their concerns to this board to see what other parents think, so that they can gauge whether their concerns are valid before approaching the coaches or owners of their gym with their concerns or recommendations for change.  Many of what you call "stupid" concerns are completely valid, and goes to a parent's personal belief about modesty and age-appropriate apparel and such.

you assume that most of the complaints are parents some and a lot are coaches gym owners and even cheerleaders
this board is here to help you sort out your issues and its just fun and different and its a voice a sounding board
believe me the gym owners are smart enough to sort out "cheer drama parents" as you so kindly put it they can read these board and fig out if they agree or if they may need to make changes in their program or they can see whats going on else where and make sure it doesnt happen in their gym
it doesnt have to be negative as you are trying to make it think about your negative comment you just made aboutthe parents and then see what you just said is no better

the boards are fun and it gets crazy on here but they have monitors and we all will never totally agree on everything what may be someone's personal issue may not be others but thats what so great about having your own opinion on things

i think this is a great venue to get things out there and so many peoiple have learned so much form the coaches owners cheerleaders and parents i say kudos to the cheergyms for giving all of us a voice that is pretty well contained to the boards only and it helps keep the drama outa the gym
one other perspective it gives the gym owners a chance to voive their opionions that they normally can not because they have to be "politically correct" at the gym
it works for everyone

i aways say everyone has a choice and if these boards are too much for anyone just dont read them but dont knock others if they do

Diversity is what makes our world go round
feel priveleged to have the oportunity to express youself
for there are still many in this world who are not accorded this
privelege, "crazy parents" can also be found in baseball, football
gymnastics, wherever a child is entered into a sport, you will
find the aformentioned, just like television, if you don`t like the
program, change the channel, however you are still allowed to
mumble and grumble.

You guys are missing my point. I was not saying people cannot express themsleves, it is the constant complaining about a subject. There is a huge difference between asking about briefs/make up and complaining about what type of make up and briefs you are wearing. You think wrestling parents really complaing about their son wearing tights to the coaches. All I'm saying is pick your battles, ask about training, financial issues, and how to make your son/daughter a better athlete.

Complaints....

1. Chew with your mouth closed. No one wants to see what you're eating nor do we want to hear it. Yuk....
2. Quit tapping. It's annoying. Your keys, pencil, finger nails, whatever.
3. Don't blow your nose at the table. MASSIVE no no.
4. Don't wear sandles if your feet are dry. Can you say DISGUSTING? L O T I O N
5. If you have pudginess around the middle, don't wear those short jeans and/or short tops. You DON'T look good in them. Sorry.
6. G-strings are not meant to be seen by anyone but the person IN YOUR MIRROR.
7. Your kid is NOT cute when they are running around the store, resturant, etc. They look like unruly brats that don't listen.
8. Why on earth are you COUNTING to 3? They should do what they are told the FIRST TIME. Otherwise MAKE THEM listen and give them concequences. I have 5 and YES they do what I tell them. And if they don't, oh they had better DUCK.... something is flying at their heads. Think I'm strict? Yep, you got THAT right. But, I also have 3 teens, a pre-teen and 7 year old that don't talk back either.

Ok, is that better on complaints????

Yea, the cheer ones are much more fun, aren't they?

Geez I can't spell....biggrin

I personally find seeing the private parts of random strangers very disturbing and worthy of conversation when it happens to me and there are some viery small adjustments that could be made to keep it from happening.  It is apparently more prevalent that one would think given the amount of discussion it has generated.  weirdface  THe person whose gym discussed it with them apparently recognized a problem.    A pedophile or person interested in such parts might find a cheer gym or comp a fun place to be with a camera.  A disgusting thought, if there ever was one.  WOuld you want a photo shot of your kid posted on the internet?  furious

Sometimes I just want to focus on makeup, briefs, half tops, and hair because it can be much more fun than dealing with the training and financial issues. I want to have FUN!!

OC Mom, you made my day!!!

One of the recent complaints on this board is the wearing of "brief" kickpants/tillies/spankies/lollipops/tights instead of "boycut" kickpants/tillies/spankies/lollipops/tights.

And since the original poster was very general in what they were referring to, the fifth(?) anonymous poster was pointing out that they didn't necessarily agree with this board just being complaining central.
