They just need to increase their skills to stay level 4, otherwise they drop and dominate level 3 like they did last year. Looking forward to seeing them perform again, whichever they choose.
What other level 4 teams do you think could/should drop and be level 3??
UCF does most def needs to drop a level but.......... i dont know of any other team so far all others except them been true to level 4 there i dont think they realize they r in the wrong division or wont admit it ther r some level 5 teams that should drop to 4 or even 3
We have talked a lot about true level 4 teams on this site. So far the only true level 4 teams I have seen are Power and Pyramids. It doesn't mean the others can't do well, but I don't know if they can do well against either of those two.

i cant agree more POWER and Pyramids are both great teams and started the season out real strong placing teams in th right divison
noone is saying ucf cant do well but they prob wont due to the fact they are simply in the wrong division i think it will be a hard season for them prob not the best thing for a small gym but we could be surprised you never know
YEAH FOR UCF! Love them...each and everyone of them. I have several friends on the teams and they are all so nice! It doesn't matter what level they compete at I will rout for them anyday! You all talk about their level 4 team, but they do have other teams that are amazing in the other levels. I can't wait to see them at the next competition. GOOD LUCK UCF there are lots of people out here that love you...your gym has come a long way! UCF is a winner! You all ROCK!
I don't know how amazing the other levels are, based on the standings at their first comp they must have all had a rough day. I think it's fine to come on this site and boast and brag about a gym, but be ready to take criticism as well. I always welcome it, it only makes us stronger.

Perhaps you could let us know what team you are from and we can let you know what we think of your team IF you welcome the critcism. I do find it interesting that certain gyms are continual mentioned by name here on this board and it's allowed. Then the minute someone mentions another gym those message are wiped out or the topic is closed.
I am going to take the approach of kindness. I'm sure this gym is fulll of talented cheerleaders and many other gym owners would love to have these cheerleaders talents in their own gym. Perhaps a few of them could be level 5 cheerleaders and if commute wasn't an issue they would be on an AMAZING level 5 team. The chearleaders are in this gym for a reason and their reason's are strong enough to stay put. I applaud a gym that wants more for their cheerleaders and if it is to challenge Power and Pyramid at level 4 just let them do it. To say you took second or even 3rd to some well equiped teams good for them. The word will get out that they are pushing their cheerleaders to the next level. Parents will hear this and want this for their cheerleaders as well. And who really knows where they will be at nationals, if they drop down a level, like many teams do, then watch out like someone stated above watch out.
PEOPLE!!!!!!!! Don't start drama again, I just wanted to know where they were going to be competing next. UCF don't mind these boards obviously someone has a grudge with your organization. I have only seen positive out of you guys! It's EARLY in the season we know we'll see great things in the future. Stay Strong

My daughter is on UCF level four and we are proud of what they have accomplished so far, they may not be what others are calling a true level 4 but they are working really hard at practice and don't want to give up. That speaks volumes in my book. Those girls are being pushed probably more than they thought they would be, but if you walk in that gym they are having fun and they all get along well. There are other things that have happened that has caused them to have to regroup but they have and they are amazing. This is our first year with UCF and we are starting to love that gym each week. It is not perfect but its an amazing program Every team is not set out to be the best and the strongest when they start out, but perserverance, loyalty, dedication and hardwork makes you stronger. These girls have heart and they know that a lot of people are telling them they are not level 4, but they are pushing through and moving forward! And if the only complaint about UCF is that their level 4 team is not a true level 4 well then I would say thats an awesome gym
This is my daughters first year cheering, and someone told me to go onto this site. This topic caught my attention, because it talks about team levels. How do coaches choose what level a child should be on ? What does one have to do to be on a level 4 team vs a level 3 team ?
Level 3 is no standing tucks, single leg extended stunts with regular cradle, full twist cradle from a two-foot stunt, one skill in a basket toss, can do round-off tucks and back handspring tucks. I don't think a flyer can do any kind of front or back flip in a stunt.
Level 4 is standing tucks, but can't connect them with a jump, can do layouts and pikes in running tumbling, can single-twist cradle from a single-leg stunt and can double twist from a two-foot stunt, can do two skills in a basket toss.
I'm sure there are better explanations and more things I don't know, these were just off the top of my head.
Normally, it depends on the level of the team as a whole. If you have a team that can mostly do certain skills, you go that level. If only one girl can do a layout and/or a standing tuck, or even a few girls, going level 4 isn't a smart choice, because you earn points for how many girls can do said skills. Same for any other level -- it should be what the majority of girls can do, and can do well.
