I hate Bloomers!! Boy cut spankies only!!! Please coaches

I so have to bring this up! Last weekend at Jamfest I was down on the floor watching teams and waiting for my daughter's team to go on. One of the teams (They will remain nameless) had these underwear looking bloomers on, and they were so thin that the girl flying in the front was doing a maneuver and you could see her pad (I am so sorry I know that sounds foul)
Matter of fact they were also cut in a "V" shape so on some of the girls you could see butt checks.

I am just asking coaches please take into consideration that these girls are all not of age to use alternative products, and sometimes the sight of these things can be a little stomach turning to the parents and audience not to mention embarrassing for the cheerleader.

I don't even get bothered as much by the bright or sparked spankies as long as they are boy cut, and preferedly sewn into the skirt.

I am a mother and I did cheer back in the day we had like yellow ones and blue ones I would always were the blue and the yellow when I had my girl thing, but sometimes the inside of my thighs would hurt like hell because having two sets of bloomers on was really uncomfortable.

Any other suggestions on how to deal with this? Does this drive other parents and cheerleaders crazy too?

I am suprised that some teams do not automatically use the boycut ones now a days.  Interesting.

It's a personal choice in our gym.  Our gym gave all the cheerleaders their perference at the time we were at uniform fittings.  About half perferred one over the other.   It was great to have the option.

Since when do you not wear any underwear with your briefs or boy cut briefs?    I think that's a health risk.  I don't know a single cheerleader that just wears briefs.  The briefs are a part of the uniform and not actual underwear.  to me that is just gross!!!!!!!!!!!

Sadly they are correct, the problem with wearing underwear when you have bloomers instead of boy shorts is not all parents allow their kids to wear underwear that are not huge, so some would prefer to wear none instead of risking them being seen or looking bunched up when their unattached shirt rises up.

This is really an issue people and coaches and owners of gyms don't understand because they dont ask. How many coaches are going to say, " Do you have underwear on? No they don't they assume they do and they are usually in the front of the routines when the kids are performing, and they are so busy looking to make sure all the routines hit.

Parents:

It's time that you start ensuring that your daughter is wearing panties under their bloomer, briefs, boy cut briefs.  Please go out to the store and purchase a pair of panties that are similar in color to the briefs.  Make sure your daughter wears them.

Coaches and Gym Owners:

I don't think this responsibility should fall on your shoulders but perhaps you can mentions something in your gyms?

Cheerleaders:

Let your parents know that panties ARE required.  I am sure your parents will understand and go out and purchase a pair of special panties just for competition.

i had boy cut briefs last season that were navy blue. I figured it out at the first comp when we were all stretching to go out onto the floor that they were see through. Luckily  i am not a flyer but we all still had to do jumps and stuff. It was uncomfortable knowing they were see through. I told everyone on the team they were see though as well. The younger ones could care less but i knw me my sister and our closest friends on the team went out and bought black boty shorts to wear underneath.

yeah that is absolutly disgusting if u r not wearing underwear underneath ur bloomers i dont care how long the bloomers r there still should be no reason not to.....i mean especially flyers like when they go up and hit heel stretches that would be so nasty!!!

but responding to the original topic i definatley agree that boy cut briefs should be worn instead of regular bloomers!!!!!

You know what makes this topic really ridiculous???  These briefs are called "boy cut" briefs...hahaha.  Boys don't even wear them, why would you call them "boy cut"?  Would the original pair of briefs be called "girl cut"?  What would be really weird to see would be a gymnast wear a "boy cut" leotard....

Thank you all!!

We have definitely got our point across, yes boy cut spankies can at times be see through so the gyms need to ensure they order the proper material, but my main reason for starting this topic was because I know the amount of people that come on this website word will get around, please parents please check with your cheerleaders and do something to ensure they have the right underneaths.

Have a great season everyone.

Just a thought...wearing boy shorts under sofffes unless they fit really well.  As a mom sitting in the waiting room, I have seen some things I really didn't want to see during stretching, warmups in front of the waiting room glass.  If, um, err, panties are well fitted, fine...but if not...weirdface

Holy cow, who the heck is still using old school briefs?? Get with it, people!

We have boy cut spankies.  We are required to wear them to practice UNDER our practice shorts.  Our coaches don't need to see that stuff, haha...  And who the heck is wearing no panties underneath their briefs or spankies?? That's just gross.  You don't have to wear trashy panties or a thong, you can go to Target and get some perfectly well fitted low rise briefs that don't show and don't ride up for like 3 for $5.

I think some people don't realize how much they are showing! Our coaches sat us down and talked to us in the summer about wearing ... er ... "appropriate undergarments" to practice and stuff.

When Em was 7, she was so tiny that they didn't MAKE bloomers in her size. (she could wear 18 months to 3T at age 7) I had to go to Target or Gymboree and buy her bike shorts. NO ONE NOTICED. The legs rode up anyway, so you couldn't tell. But when she was a little older and a little bigger, she would complain about her bloomers. So I still bought her bike shorts and NO ONE NOTICED. (sorry Nikki and Nelson, but the truth is out)

As for the underwear thing..... well, the shorts/bloomers aren't made to be worn alone. They are made of a different material. There's a reason why underwear are made of cotton. Let's just say that cotton breathes and if the material that is against your skin doesn't breathe, you will eventually find out why you SHOULD wear underwear. One word ITCHINESS. And once one deals with that, they won't do it again.

Also, if you are a flyer and your bases hands are on your rear and more, you had best be wearing some sort of underwear. That's just sanitary.

Please find some underwear that will work under your briefs or bloomers.

Oohooh! if Summer hadn't worn boy-cut shorts as well I'd tell Nikki & Nelson. ;)

Ok... Someone explain the difference between regular spankies and bloomers?  Oh and I thought boy cut meant the ones that come down on the leg, kinda like a short.  I'm confused lol.  All these years I've been calling them spankies???  Help I need to get more in the know on the correct terminalogy.
