Closing topics?

I have been on this site a lot and noticed that a lot of topics that seem to be going a bad way close right away yet the ones that are already full board on negativity seem to stay open.  I dont know who is monitoring the topics but lets be realistic about keeping some open and closing others.  I think any topic could shift to look negative and jump poistive.  The problem I have is that I noticed a lot of these are staying negative and no one is closing them.  Its a little frusterating.furious

there are a handful of moderators...some from cheergyms, some not. if you feel a topic should be closed, the best thing to do is make a recommendation post stating you think it should be.

I agree, if a person thinks a topic should be closed they should suggest it. People should feel free to post their opinions and they aren't always positive. That doesn't necessarily mean the topic should be closed. But if others feel it should be or if enough has already been said about a particular subject, please make the recommendation.

Ok everyone Whats up now?  We all want the Anonymously posting but as soon as it turns and someone thinks it's getting to neg. then someone is "like oh my gosh why didn't someone close it or keep it open".  Really mommy's the only thing that everyone agrees on is THAT WE AGREE TO DISAGREE and who cares what SALLY or SUE said because it is how they feel and think.  Relaxxx and breath parentsawwawwaww  and have fun with the Annonymous posts before they change it again.

I would rather see these frustrations hash out on this board than at the cheer competitions, people need to get this stuff out, this is an intense business!!! Please realize that whomever owns this board is not going to let crap about them or any of their associations be spread so of course those subjects are going to be shut down!! Yes but if you are the owner of the Gym who was or is being posted about on this board and you are upset, maybe you should use this as a tool to get it together. Take it as constructive criticism and move on.idea.gif

When someone is just plain being mean to be mean and cause problems  I don't blame them for closing the topic.

I agree being mean is not constructive criticism.  It's just someone starting trouble for troubles sake.  There has to be a point when you say enough.

What is enough? Enough is when you can't take it anymore and the hashing is over you or your team or something you can't handle. Please people reading these boards is optional, posting is optional, if someone writes something you don't like don't read it, don't respond!! Don't give it power, but if you go around telling all your friends and they go on to read it, (raising the view count) and making everyone around read it because it must be something good the count is high. Or responding escalating the fight, what is the point. I do know this board will become boring again if all someone has to do is cry and they close the topic.

I agree! Look at the one they closed about the power comp!! All over a person saying they hope other teams are ready!! THIS IS COMPETITION PEOPLE!!! YOU ARE COMPEATING FOR TROPHIES, MONEY etc. I think talk like this raises the excitement, gives people things to look forward to. They may not even have a team in that division but they will watch because they have heard this will be a good division. (In my opinion) This is why cheer can not get recognition as a sport. Come on people Kobe and Shaq, Superbowl, they talk crap they get hyped and ready for the game. Please stop all this kissing and get your game faces on.

Yall are so funny.  The original post I put up, the first one that  was about paying attenion to what should be closed and what should not be closed.  yes I agree that someone could go on and ask to close a topic yet that wasn't my concern.  My concern was the fact that some topics are being closed because they "look" like they are going in a negative direction while some topics are left open when they are already in an intense negative direction.  I am just saying that who ever is closing these needs to be reading into to these topics a little more before jumping the gun. I feel some topics that haven't even gone negative get closed with no chance of turning positive.  A possible solution to this would be to send out a post that says that this topic might be closed if the negativity continues.
I swear when this anonymouse opened up again, the idea was to keep it clean as possible.  Yea, I know you can't always do that but if you are going to shut the anonymous down and then pull it back up because you are not getting the statistics you want for the site, you need to change the way you were doing to before.  I see this going back the way it was before.  No one was regulating this site as well as they could. Now that Cheergyms had expanded, I'm sure you can find a groupd of individuals who will watch over the board.  Come on, lets be professional about this.  After all, this is your site in which reflects you business.  No matter if its not your cheerleaders, it is on your website.

I think this site has been regulated just fine so far.  For example I saw a post that mentioned some team sucks (a perfect example of a poster trying to be mean without any other motivation).  Poof, it was gone after a few viewings.  I like the idea of mentioning a post may be turning too negative, kind of a heads-up?
