Northern California Cheerleading vs. Southern California Cheerleading.
Better Style? Better Gyms? Most entertaining? What do you think? No bashing on any teams!
I feel like there are more gyms In Nor-Cal, but there are larger gyms down south. I also think Nor-Cal gyms are very clean and crisp, but so cal teams have more difficulty.
I like so cal routines better over all. Teams like Outlaws, Bullets and CheerForce are amazing to watch and find new ways to impress people. As of Nor Cal, i think Power does the same. Cheergyms AA teams always surprises people as well. What do you think?
It seems to me that so cal has more of that showy performancy routines while nor cal focuses more on being "clean". I like nor cal's better, but that may be because it's what I was "raised" on. ;)
I agree with this assessment. I love the creativity the so-cal teams come up with. California Flyers especially.
Nor-Cal really focuses on making the routines clean.
Honestly, I really prefer the clean routines, clean transitions and guaranteed stunts. I need to take a page out of Spirit of Texas' play book. That gym is probably the cleanest I have seen ever. They may not be the flashiest, but boy they look good.
i agree with yall to... teams like OC, cheerforce, and PC are so fun and crazy to watch b/c their routines are so incredible. nor cal gyms like POWER, cheergyms, AP are so clean and amazing, but different.
i like both styles, i cant describe it, but its really different lol

I think Spirit of Texas is clean and very flashy. I think their skills are technically perfect as well.
I feel like Nor Cal teams are a bit dated... and need to catch up. Its teams like Wst Coast Mavericks, Champion... er.. I mean So Cal Outlaws, California All-Stars and Cheer Force are the teams from down south that step up and make the cut. I'm not saying teams from Nor Cal are not close behind... Power is awesome, Pyramids and Motions are really good. and there are a hand full of hopefulls that we should look out for in the future. But overall So Cal Vs. Nor Cal... well, you know where I stand.
Having been to many competitions over the years I know what you mean, it seems as though Nor Cal teams tend to play it safer and go for the cleaner routines, but don't always have that wow factor you see with So Cal teams. Not that Power doesn't consistently amaze us, but I think So Cal teams take more chances maybe?

What about norcal teams that have choreographers from southern cal or even texas. We get our choreographer from texas and travels here. Is that still considered a "norcal routine"

well lets see..... if you perform it like norcal then its considered norcal if you perform it like texas woweeee cant wait to see it
norcal teams are not quite as fun to watch but are very clean with exception of power they are clean powerful and amazing to watch i agree power has done an amzazing job bringing new style to norcal socal teams are just dynamic and you cant wait to see them perform you get this rush as you wait for their music to start thats exactly the feeling we all get when power takes the floor lets all admit it power stands out as a norcal team even when they compete on the east coast im a power "hater" just kidding I dont hate power but when my team grows up i wanted be just like POWER -smile
I think Nor Cal is starting to change as far a choreography goes. I've noticed that there seems to be more and more teams stepping it up here in Northern California. I do agree that Nor Cal is cleaner. Other then that I don't see any difference. Just that the gyms down in So Cal seem to be bigger. Seems like they have a larger talent pool. More gyms and bigger teams. Teams like Motions, Power, and Nor Cal seem to be holding thier own against some of these so called power houses. So keep on doing what your doing is appears to be working.
Hey Nor Cal must be doing something right. Your starting to get talked about more and more. That means your starting to get noticed. I think that there are quite a few teams up here that are alot of fun to watch. Excited to see what everyone is doing this season. Go Nor Cal I lov ya...

Want to add Airborne to the teams that have really stepped it up also. Love Airborne

I would definitely say that So Cal teams take more chances. But Nor Cal is always clean. And clean will always beat a shakey but tough routine... right? Well anyway... I think that both are GREAT, just one is clean and one is flashy.
