Huh? There's no excuse if you're wearing practice clothes to a competition. That is a sign your gym is seriously unorganized.
Every gym tries to get thier uniforms ordered early and delivered on time, but sometimes you are at the mercy of the uniform company. This does not mean that your gym is seriously unorganized. It happens and I remember last year a number of gyms attended thier first comps without uniforms. Stuff sometimes happens.
I understand both sides completely, but all you have to do is swap uniforms if the team wants go out looking in full uniform. Also it takes 8-10 weeks for uniforms, so most people have their teams set in July/August so you should have uniforms by now.
I disagree. Uniforms can come in and the orders sometimes get screwed up. Yes you can try and swap uniforms around, but sometimes especially if your a small gym it does not always work out. Who cares really as long as the girls look neat and get out there and compete. Too many other things to sweat over.
Rebels All Stars (our little gym in Lincoln) will be in our NEW uniforms...and I have had our fair share of issues with the order, delivery & sizing. As a matter of fact, I am still waiting on the delivery of briefs & skirts that had to be re-made. Needless to say, I LOVE my uniform rep, and she is the main reason we go back each season.
We attended the Gold Jam last year & there were a few teams in practice clothes. It was also the beginning of October, not November, so hopefully more teams have been able to work out their uniform issues. If anyone hasn't, I'm sure there's a reason. One last thing...there was one team that dominated last year's Gold Jam...I think it might have been NCE, but not sure. The audience was blown away by their performance, and NO ONE cared that they were in their practice clothes...

you are awesome im a mom and i have no idea if uniforms will be in on time i listen to the parents gripe in th eoarking lot confront the owners and even th epoor coaches who have nothing to do with ordering uniforms
hey poop happens when you place orders i can count on plenty of fingers including my many times when i dont get stuff i ordered for christmas in time better yet they send the wrong size color etc
uniforms do not make the team its just an added part to complete the look how many time have we told our kids dont worry about what everyone else is wearing etc.......
when i leave a comp im not talking about who had what on etc but how great a team was
so if my gym owner is reading this ad ofyour a gym owner there are some of us who have patience and know poop happens
I dont know why someone would say your gyms is unorganized. That is so untrue sometimes people just want to gripe. Uniform issues happen ALL THE TIME. It may have nothing to do with the GYM... Why would someone say that?
I think the impression is that the gym is unorganized because typically you'll see this happen with newer gyms. You don't see that happen with some of the veteran gyms who have been around for quite a while because they know you have to get those orders in and back in plenty of time for your first competition (months in advance). Sure things happen you have no control over, but it just doesn't seem to happen to the more experienced gyms. When you pay so much for a uniform and you only have seven or eight competitions, think about it, wouldn't you be a little upset if they didn't arrive for the first one or two comps? I would be. I agree, they shouldn't matter. But obviously they do because we just spent close to $500 on ours!
We had uniform issues last year...however, it was the vendor's fault (they used the wrong fabric and had to remake them all) and we put the heat on them to make it right and get them to us before the first competition. But for those teams that competed at Jamfest last year, it was the first weekend in September, so I can see how that would happen that early in the season.

no that is not true bigger gyms and vetern gyms have the same issues they just switch girls out at the competition im sure the end result of uniforms will be wirth the wait hang in there
I agree that you spend way too much money on a uniform only to have them in practice clothes for the first competition (and even worse if it's the 2nd too). As a parent I would not be a happy camper. We're talking about a competition in early November, right? September is understandable and excusable, but not November.
hmm, California All-Stars went to there 1st comp 2 years ago n San Diego @ the i-pay-1 center and had practice cloths on... and they kicked @$$ all year... so what does that tell you?

I want to know why someone always seems to know what is right and what is wrong and what makes them the authority to comment on what is right vs wrong then sign anonymous. Doesnt make sense. I know this is the anonymous post but if you are going to comment on what is excusable or not you should have something to show you are the expert in this area. If you have not walked in someone's shoes who give the right to judge them. I am not just pointing out this one comment but many of them. I understand if you are stating your personal opinion that is okay but it holds more weight if you start off by stating why it is fact. With all the variables it just sounds silly for someone to pass judgement. To each his own. I see collegiate teams performing in their practice clothes all the time. I am sure there was sometime ago when people said I cant believe they are in a short skirt. Now the shorter the better. To each his own. What is they said their uniforms came in the wrong color and they had to be re ordered or what if the order was never placed on the uniform company someone forgot to enter it. I mean come on people. I know I as a parent would not leave a gym or be mad because the uniforms were not there by the first competition. I guess that I love my gym too much to be so petty. I researched a while before I found the right one and to quit because uniforms where late. Ridiculous. Oh well just my opinion

You are completely right that every person has their own methods to doing things, but when those methods effect large groups of people there is a perceived standard. When anyone doesn't meet that standard, then you will get criticized. Same thing occurs in any business or organization. Ideally you should order uniforms at least 3 months prior to your first competition. I know all star teams take kids on late, but what are you doing from April-August. Ya you are busy with coaching but uniforms are pretty standard in cheerleading.
