I love the Junior divisions, lets name all of our favorite teams below. Here are some of the Junior teams I think these gyms have (based on what I have heard) we all know that rumors are constantly twisted so who knows If I'm even right. Please correct them If I am wrong. This is going to be a great year for Junior teams!
Looks like the Junior Level Four division is going to be filled with a lot of great, talented teams. I am pretty sure this is going to be my favorite division to watch this season. (Youth 2 coming in close second... i love those lil ones.) I can't wait for comp season to start. good luck to all teams. ;)
How many of these teams are "true" Junior teams vs a combination of Youth + Junior?
Youth max age is 11. So Junior team would be age 12-14. What I see in Northern California is usually a Youth team with a few Junior age kids.
What about your Junior team? How many "youth" age kids do you have on your Junior team?
I'm not saying anything is wrong with this. Just that we don't seem to have enough kids to separate them out based on ages.
Being able to seperate by age is a luxury of the 200+ athlete gym. If you don't sepeate by skill level nowadays you're dead in the water at each & every competition.
I think some of the issues that Northern California teams come across is that we are over analyzing every detail. People know to much for their own good. Now its good to be educated on your sport, but people judge things to much. I love Worlds watcher but your already saying these things happen in Nor Cal and this happens. More than just Nor Cal teams have youth aged kids on junior teams. The majority of teams maybe a certain age, but even the big name gyms have some kids who are younger than the majority. Allow these teams to grow and prosper, then we will become gym like World cup, CA, and Stingrays. I just think people have alot of unreal expectations when they post on the boards.

In Northern California that seems to be the case. But I see a difference in ages of Junior teams in Southern Cal, East Coast, and Southern teams. They seem to be able to put "Age+Skills" for a Junior team. I think those teams have an advantage.

Cheer Odyssey's Junior 4 has a "true" junior team!! They're all 12 and over with only 2 that are under 12. But those 2 that are under 12 have some great skills!! Can't wait to see all the teams on that competition mat!!
