It's Official

These boards are officially BORING!

Who votes that we go back to no required registration? Maybe I can find a few people to monitor the boards for victious comments.

At it's most popular we had over 3000 visitors a day. Now we average around 200. Lame.

What do you guys think?

Yes I agree go back to the way it was.   It's so sad to see this board so dead now.

I too have been sadened by the lack of postings. I still log in everyday just to see if something happened ....... and NOBODY is on. I even look at the bottom and its usually just me logged in. I think once competitions start up it will begin to start some disscussion (or so I hope). And I have even started topics to get the ball rolling, and NOBODY replies, maybe 1 or 2 people. :[

Although I had voted for the logging in, it isn't working. I also log in everyday only to see my name at the bottom. So sad!!!

Let's bring back the anonymous, only this time with a couple monitors.

edited: oh by the way, what does victious mean?  and would using that word be cause for deletion? ;)

I don't know...I think I'd rather have it this way than have all the horrible-ness that was going on. It was like open season!

I guess I don't see the point in inviting trouble. I think most of the reason it's so quiet right now is that we're all waiting for competition season to start!

I agree, we are all waiting around for the comp season to start. Once it does, I think these boards are  going to go off. Plus...if anyone wants to post something, they will register, under an alias or not. So, we have to just give it time. Nothing exciting has happened in the cheer world yet.

Well I can see both sides of the situation and speaking from experience I think it would be better to remain anonymous without logging in. I post this on behalf of some other people also not just myself.

At our old gym our owners didnt really have an opinion about posting. But I do have some friends at another gym and they are not allowed to post, frankly they are not allowed to talk about anything about their gym. A lot of these people have a lot of knowledge and great opinions but out of fear of someone telling their gym owner that they posted some info they will not post or even register, (Im sure some slip by)

One of the things that I thought was pretty funny was that their gym owner told them that he could trace their posts by calling Cheer gyms Staff and find out who they were (I really hope they were kidding when they said that). IMO if some one is going to go to those extremes to find out what people are saying then Boo Hoo. Its just talk everyone one knows its just talk!! Results are proven on the mat. A little trash talk makes for better competition. handshake.gif

Example (Cause you know I love examples)
Super Six 2 years ago. So much hype and trash talk went on before hand; it made the competition so much better people drove up from LA, ( A few crashed with me) people wanted so bad to see what all the hype was about. People who didnt even have level 5 teams drove hours just to see the Super Six. Last Year Super Six or Seven did not have the same feel. It was a great comp, but not a great turnout at all. The auditorium was pretty empty. For weeks before the comp everyone was all touchy feely, Dont get me wrong Its great that teams encourage each other but lets face it people ITS CALLED COMPETITION!!. May the best team win! headbang.gif

well, I am torn on this topic...

I think it is a lot more FUN with registered posting because you have the oppurtunity to create a page that explains who you are and what team you are on. I think it's a great way to meet other people in the cheer world...kinda like a cheerleading myspace. hahahahaha.

On the other hand... it was definately a lot more interesting when the all of the posts were ANONYMOUS! i also think people gave more truthfull opinions (good or bad) when the readers did not know who posted it.

You'll still be able to do everything you can do now with the site Jill. The only change is that you'll be able to post without registering.

I always give my opinions and some times they are not what most people want to hear. Of course I won't say what gym I was affiliated with because then that would cause drama. But I agree that more people would be more honest with their opinions if it were anonymous. With Boards like PROX there is none of this fear nonsense of getting caught by gym owners. I would volunteer to moderate. I did PROX for a while but they have enough moderators. Hopefully it will work out. You don't want to get a message from Danny saying
You have been banned.gif

I can see both sides too, especially if your gym has been under attack by anonymous posts in the past... the thought of giving others the opportunity again might make me cringe too.  But I believe the majority of us know how to separate constructive criticism from plain nonsense and cruelty.  I enjoy reading the opinions of others and I think you'll see plenty more if it goes back to posting without having to register.  I think posts will pick up once competitions start (as others mentioned) but they'll still be limited and you'll pretty much see the same users posting (IMO).   I'm all for making it easier for others -- the more the merrier!

the super six example was great! I am now remembering how different it felt this year compared to the last, and you are right, it was because there was a LOT of hype right before. There wouldn't have been if people werent going crazy on these boards. I vote let people not register, LETS START THE COMMOTION!! :D

Thank you Marlon! I knew I wasn't the only one that felt it last year.

It was so different there was no hype. Everybody was playing nice. Truthfully I know our team was playing nice in public, but in our own gym and amongst ourselves we had the "LETS CRUSH THEM" attitude and the "I heard they only have X amount of fulls and "their pyramid is this". Lets just put it out in the open. Like I said I am the Queen of examples.

I don't think the Raiders and 49ers or their fans talk how well the other team is doing. They talk some serious trash and then the result are proven out on the field. Lets do the same. Its funner!!!! matrixfight.gif
