This summers vacations

Ok just for fun lets start telling each other about what they plan on doing this summer and where everyone is going and doing. I'll start first. We are going on a 7 day cruise to Alaska it's our second cruise but our youngest has never been so we want to take her before she grows up and moves out. We want to go to Alaska before all the glaciers are melted. We are leaving on the 10th for a week I am sure gonna miss all the the friendly conversation but I'm sure we will have lots to talk about when I get back.smile

My older daughter is going to Australia while my hubby, younger daughter and myself are, hopefully, going to check out a military school in Virginia!! for the older daughter's last two years of high school.

And before anyone gets any crazy ideas...she wants to go.  One of the options she's thinking about after high school is joining the military.  However, she doesn't want to go straight from her cushy life into rigid life, so this would be a middle ground.  It will also give her a better idea of what she's getting into before signing up for x amount of years.  Why Virginia?  Well, California being California I couldn't find a military school that wasn't for delinquents AND accepted girls.

Alex, I've been trying to get a hold of Tannaz. Is that the gym you're in? Or are you at the other one?

Well that all sounds interesting to me even OC Mom just doing all that running around is quite adventerous. Tamara I think thats a great idea especially if she is wanting to do that. As far as Australia that is one trip we are wanting to go on but it may be awhile at least till our 14 year old moves out. I hear those trips are not geared for the younger ones. As far as CHEER TAXI your gonna love Maui. Where are you staying? We stayed at Kaanapali Beach at the Sheraton. The snorkling is awesome. Make sure if you do nothing else take them on the catamaran ride they will drop anchor at a secluded location and you snorkle in about 20 feet of water in the reefs and swin with the tropical fish and sea turtles its really cool. I do not know if the whales are still there this time of year but if they are they will be everywhere its so beautiful. We also ran into a school of spinner dolphins my daughter had thought she died and went to heaven. Lady W I want to hear about that trip as well have not went there yet but want too. Wow Pixie how did you pull that one off! Girls vacation only cool! I used to live in Aiea Hawaii its on Ohau. The best places there are opn the other side of the island make sure you rent a car and drive you wont regret the drive its so nice and lots of places to stop like the blow hole, the Pali Lookout, Koneohe bay ect., Watch out for those mai tai's they hit you fast Lol!

Pali Lookout is great, just be prepared for the wind!  Hang on to something or someone, lol.  On Maui, try to see the Haleakala crater (I'm certain my spelling is wrong) at sunrise or sunset, it's beautiful.  And you gotta take the ride to the seven pools even though it's long and bumpy.

No vacation for us this summer, taking a little break to do stuff around the house (I guess that's not really a break).  Hope everyone has a fun summer!

The Pali lookout if you go do not wear a dress Lol! It will be above your head if you do. We did do the crater and watch the sunrise was very beautiful just make sure you take a parka its verrry cold at 10,000 ft! Didn't do to the seven pools not sure where thats at is it in Hana?! I heard thats very pretty but is like a 4 hour ride. Next summer I believe that we will be staying home and remodling the house we lived there since it was new in 1994 and have never done anything to it its time for a face lift but it will have to wait another year.

Yes, seven pools (waterfalls) are on the road to Hana.  It's a very long and rocky ride (takes up the entire day) but it's worth it, unless you have small children traveling with you who may not have the patience for that long of a drive.  The payoff might not be worth it for them (we've made that mistake plenty of times).  smile.gif

I'm on "vacation" in San Jose right now for the twin's graduation.. But I'm going to Vegas with friends for my 21st birthday in July!!!  (the hotel is being paid for by my friend's husband- she's turning 21 too- otherwise there's no way I could afford it!)

Kris, check your private messages.  I left you my number in there.
