NCA nationals from last year was on ESPN2 this morning. Did anyone else notice that NorCal (at worlds) did the same exact opening that Memphis Elite had last year?
First, it is not uncommon to throw standing tucks in a circle like NCE and many other teams do. Secondly, that comp which was UCA Allstar Nationals was from this season. This means that both teams had the same type of idea, there are some differences, on different sides of the country. throwing tucks in a circle formation and stating someone took it from someone else is like saying that everyone that does a back flip transition in a pyramid is stealing. Skills and formations are just that, there are only so many skills and so many formations to choose from.
I only saw NCE from the prelim day and they looked great! I also saw Memphis and they looked great as well. Two totally different styles of cheer from different states, one great idea! Way to go you guys! Congrats on great showings at Worlds!
I'm with AirBourne if you really look at enough vidoes you can similarities in lots of routines its not so much if your copying but how well you perform it.
I'm not saying anyone copied anyone. I'm just saying it's weird how they started the same, then they turned and looked, then they did standing tucks, standing fulls (in the middle) and then went into tumbling which looked a lot the same.
I guess I could pose the question- What does it take to make your team "stand out" from the others? Because it seems like everyone mimics what they like from before. What does a team need to do to make their routine original? The liberty, twist cradle, or even the basket toss..they all had to start somewhere!
Extension to heel stretch, bed to the right, kick up to scorp, scale double..... \
every seen THAT before???
sheesh.... i wish there was something new....

Thats were excellent coaches come into play. And no one wants to "steal" others' ideas. Somebody somewhere always came up with that move before you saw it. Lol. does this make sense? i feel like im babbling!
