Great article and photos! Always love it when the press can say positive things about the sport. And what a great group of kids to highlight. Congratulations on your Worlds accomplishments in 2006 and 2007!

but I just can't resist! Amac, Kyle, Alex and Kirstie McCarthy have been coached by Nelson for a number of years. Amac was on the very first Motions team. She is now a cheer coach in San Diego as well as a student and will hopefully be cheering herself again this coming season. Alex and Kyle are following their big sister to San Diego and will try out for CA this weekend as will AMac. Kirstie is planning on returning to Motions for her senior year of High School.
None of them would be where they are athletically without Nelson de Dios. He is a remarkable coach (and I have been around a lot of coaches over the years). So from this cheer momma (who is rarely at the gym!) Thank You Nelson for all that you have given my kids and so many others over the past years. You are a special person whose coaching and work ethic will live on in your kids for a lifetime.
I, too, am really happy to see positive news about cheer. Great job to the cheerleaders for working hard and giving those outside the cheer world something positive to read.
Side note to McCarthy Momma: So glad Kirstie will be back. She's such a sweet person and has been missed at Motions.
That is exactly what this sport needs more of that type of publicity. Great acticle congrats!! P.s. doesnt hurt all it can do is possibly get you more future all stars in your GYM
