Congrats to Motions on the Paid bid!

Yes, that is the order in which they would be passed down. And that would mean if Fierce gets the partial paid they would automatically go into Finals at Worlds instead of having to go through prelims with an At Large Bid! How you feelin' over there at Fierce right now? Pretty good I would think! And that also means if Nor Cal accepts the At Large and can get the money together, add one more team representing California at Worlds. What is the count now? Anyone, real quick before I give you the answer!

Congrats to Motions for their full bid and for Jr. Coed 4 for their win!    It's nice that it works out for other gyms/teams as well (example, Nor Cal Elite now having an at large bid and Fierce getting the partial).   I was wondering what a partial is, does it mean they pay for travel/hotel but only up to a certain amount?   Does it vary between competition companies?

Congrats to all the teams that won and to those who made it to the finals.   Great job!

A full paid bid is worth $25,000. For large teams (35 members) from California or west coast this is typically not enough to pay for expenses to Worlds. It usually takes at least $35,000.

Partial Paid Bids seem to vary depending on the Competition Company. I've seen a range of $9,000 - $15,000 for a Partial Paid Bid.

An At Large Bid all expenses are the responsibility of the team. So you can expect to pay $35,000 if you are from the west coast. That would include airfare and lodging. But remember, you have to buy the package from USASF. All teams have to stay at the hotels arranged by USASF. And I think the team is required to travel together on one flight so USASF can make arrangements for transportation from the airport to the check-in and hotel.

So, if you are a team that just got passed down an AT LARGE BID, you better start fundraising real quick and make those travel arrangements. It isn't easy this late in the game to find airfares. And parents, go for the package provided by USASF if you can. It makes travel planning easier.

Well, i just kinda wanted to clear things up real fast...
that at GSSA when they announced bids they went 4th to first. well Powers Small senior got 4th but they obviously didnt need a bid so it passed to the 5th place team which was FIERCE. Then 3rd was Pyrimads and then Motions and Power Large Senior.

SO technically Motions bid would be passed down to Pyrimads.. am i Right? UNLESS Pyrimads already got some sort of paid bid, in which the Partial would go to Fierce.

am i right?

Based on the scores from GSSA website I think this is how it would go:

                                        Total Score

Power Lg.  Partial               467

Motions    Partial                463.5 Passes down to Fierce

Fierce       At-Large            457 Passes down to Nor Cal

POWER Sm.                      453.5 already has paid bid

Pyramids   At-Large            452.5

Nor Cal Elite                       451

American Cheer                  438 has @large from UCA

First, USA doesn't usually post scores, so that information will probably have to come from coaches, which we don't usually get.

USA's criteria for awarding bids:
The USA will award three (3) “Paid” bids and six (6) “At Large” (unpaid) bids to the 2007 Cheerleading Worlds from the Elevated divisions. The top three scores from the National Champions from the four (4) Elevated divisions will receive a “Paid” bid to the 2007 Cheerleading Worlds. The remaining National Champion will receive one (1) of the “At Large” (unpaid) bids. The five (5) remaining “At Large” (unpaid) bids will be awarded to the 2nd or 3rd place teams from the Elevated divisions at the discretion of the USA All-Star Nationals competition officials.

So, paid bids went to the following division winners and must have had the top 3 scores from the 4 divisions:

California (winner of Small Sr Elevated)
Texas Lonestar Cheer (winner of Large Sr Elevated)
Motions (winner of Unlimited Coed)

Stars Extreme won Limited Coed but they already had an At Large bid from Spirit Sports. That at large bid would have then gone to South Elite. The remaining 5 at large bids would then be given to the 2nd and 3rd place teams or passed down to a team that doesn't already have a bid. There were only 4 teams that didn't have any type of bid before this competition and that was West Coast Mavericks (2nd place), Club Cheer Twisters 4th place), Fusion (3rd place), and South Elite (2nd place). So all of those teams go at large bids

Gosh -- I wish for the dance worlds the partial paids were 10K --  we are looking at 3,000 ~ 4000.  Our World team (SCF) got their bid at American Grand.  At USA yesterday they announced that since theirs (usa's) was more, we could still accept it and then decline the first one.  Our coach/owner is currently looking into that right away.  An extra 1000 can't hurt only help.

I left the Dance results at home (I can post them tomorrow if anyone is interested).
