if you click on I think its the Illinois event that is where I found it. I think they only went level 4 for DAllas...I think they have been level 5 all year, but I might be wrong.

I wonder how many teams that were level 5 all season long dropped to 4 for NCA and Cheersport? That would be interesting to see. I think there were a lot, it's a common and apparently accepted thing to do. But it's unusual to go back up to 5 for a bid to Worlds. If you think you're good enough to be at Worlds as level 5, why wouldn't you be good enough to compete at NCA or Cheersport as level 5? You'll be going against those teams afterall, not the teams you beat as level 4. I must be missing something obvious here, maybe someone will fill me in.

I think the so called "obvious" thing for NCA or Cheersport at the coveted Championship Jackets. Maybe these teams know they won't win or get a bid going up against the long standing top teams. But they want those jackets, so maybe they drop a level knowing they have a much better chance of coming home with a title and Jacket. And then they go for their bids at a smaller company. Do they expect to win at Worlds? No, but just going to Worlds has prestige and a great experience.
