Tiny/Mini Program

Hello! My name is Angie and I currently coach the Pyramids Tiny team. This year we were lucky to have a Tiny team of 6 great kids to compete for us, and they did an amazing job all year long. They even brought home a National Title this year from Athletic Championships beating out 6 other teams. With all that said  I am already looking ahead for next year, and I see an even more exciting and successful year in store. Pyramids is looking for more young girls and boys to join that successful team next year. If you know any one who might be interested, but unsure, please let them know that the Pyramids Tiny team will be holding open practices for any child, age 4-8, to come practice with them to see if this is something they would like to do. All those children would need to do is have a parent fill out a medical release form, and the practices are at no cost. At these practices they will learn all the basics of cheerleading which include jumping, tumbling, and stunting. If you are interest or know someone who might be here are the details for Tiny's open practice.
When: March 8th and 22nd
Time: 4-5:30.
Cost: NONE!!!
Ages: 4-8
What to wear: Please wear comfortable clothing and tennis shoes, no jeans and no jewelry.
What to bring: Water and a medical release form. This form is available at our web site www.cheergyms.com, or you can visit our office and receive one at that time.
If you have any questions at all regarding the Tiny/Mini teams please feel free to e-mail me at angie@cheergyms.com. Thank you all for taking the time to read this, and I hope I get to see a lot of new faces at the gym!

NO MATTER WHERE you live, if you're considering on putting your little one in cheer, don't think, RUN to your nearest cheer gym and try it out! Its the best decision I EVER made with my daughter!!! Best of luck with your Tiny/Mini teams Pyramids! They are the light of our lives at OC and it's just a WONDERFUL thing to see them practice each week!!!

Thanks for the luck! With just this post, and making announcements through e-mail and to our all stars I had 4 new little ones try out the team. Now I just need 10 more lol... I will have 20 if I have to drag people in I will do it lol... This is how I got all of the juniors that I coach now in the gym, and they have been with us for 5 years now. Good luck to OC as well with their program next year! And congrats to Fierce for their bid! Well deserved.

Angie.... make flyers. Go to preschools and ask if they can hand them out. Some will, some wont. Tell kids to bring in friends, siblings, friends of siblings, etc. I would see kids get out of cars at the store and leave a flyer on the windshield of that car. Sneaky but very effective.... Give the flyers out to parents and tell them to hand them out to people they see who have kids the right age. Be totally nice and polite and promote the program. It works really really well, especially if the parents feel like they are WANTED there.

Okay, it's late and I'm going to use that as my excuse....When I first read this, I thought "well, of course, there's going to be flyers (you know, the kids being held up in the air by other kids)"  Color me red.

Many cities are cracking down on the windshield and fines can be handed out if you don't get a permit first.

I was just about to say that acout fines .. A lot of places wont allow it and will get very angry if flyers are unapproved first. Check with the city council beforehand. A great suggestion is going to private daycares; especially for the tiny program. You can gather a lot of young moms who'd love to get their daughters involved. Of course they talk their friends/neighbors/everyone they know to join with them. Congrats on getting 4 more girls!

Actually, you'd get in trouble if you went thru the parking lot and put a flyer on every single car. They do that cause paper ends up all over the place cause people don't want them. You won't get harassed if you put them on select cars.

Hint: parking lots such as grocery stores, malls, etc are private property. The property owner has to file. The police will tell you to stop doing it if there's a complaint but they dont care about the 1 to 5 flyers you put out.

You won't get a fine for putting a flyer, note, etc on someones car. Trust me. An hour report isn't worth 3 flyers.... (the pieces of paper, not the kids in the air Tamara.... lol, lol, lol)

You got that from the horses mouth......

I was going to say private daycares. They are the best. Young parents looking for something for their kids to get involved in. Even if you can't get them for a team just yet, you can start a tiny tots class, like we did, from local daycares. You make a flyer that states you will teach the basic fundamentals of cheerleading and gymnastics. I love my tinytots class. They're one of my favorite classes to teach during the week!!!
